Why a tier can beat a single model
Every model has strengths and weak spots. A tier is not tied to one of them. For code, law, health, vision and the web, the conductor hands the work to a specialist, and other models read, plan and remember around it. So a tier draws on the strengths of many models instead of the limits of one.
